What's to get excited about!

Calling all art lovers! To finish off our schedule of group holidays for 2027, we are offering this wonderful opportunity to discover all there is to know about the legendary post-impressionist artist, Vincent Van Gogh.

The carefully assembled itinerary will see us embark on our three city tour without having to set foot on a plane. Beginning by taking the Eurostar from London to Lille or Paris, we’ll then be boarding the TGV fast train down to Avignon in Provence. From there, it’s a quick hop over to Arles, the location where Van Gogh lived for just a short period of time from February 1888 to May 1889, yet painted over 200 masterpieces. A walking tour along the Van Gogh Trail will see us taking in the locations and inspirations that enabled the artist to produce many of his works of excellence. And there’s no way we can visit a place so synonymous with the artist, without pulling out our own canvas and brushes and trying our hands at a spot of painting too!

The second leg of our tour will see us again take the TGV, but this time to Paris. Paris homes the world famous Musée d'Orsay which boasts two large rooms entirely dedicated to the works of Vincent Van Gogh. This will be the focal point for our two-night stay in France’s capital. Outside of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, it is widely regarded for assembling the finest collection of the artist’s original work, including Starry Night Over the Rhône, one of his most celebrated paintings.

And speaking of Amsterdam, the final part of our trip will see us take the train from Paris to the Netherland’s capital city, where we will indeed be spending our last full day visiting the Van Gogh Museum. Wheatfields With Crows, Sunflowers and his iconic self-portrait are all on show here, and is the perfect place for us to end our week of Van Gogh discovery before heading back to the UK by train and Eurostar.

Apart from the incredible insights we’ll gain into the life of the artist, with the vast majority of our travel to be taken by train, it will enable us to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery on offer as we travel to the south of France, then back up to Paris and finally across to Holland. Just wonderful.

This really is a special trip aimed at art lovers and with us visiting three incredible locations along the way, we are thrilled to be offering this truly unique opportunity.

Where you'll be staying...

We shall begin with 3 nights at the picturesque and tranquil Hôtel le Mas des Ponts in Arles. This is followed by 2 nights at Hotel Muguet in Paris, a small hotel ovelooking The Eiffel Tower, and finally 3 nights at the NH Amsterdam Zuid Hotel, just a few kilometres from the Van Gogh Museum. All have private bathrooms and free Wi-Fi.

Food, glorious food!

Breakfasts will be taken at each of the three hotels we are staying. Packed lunches will be provided for when we are out and about and evening meals shall either be taken in the hotels or a local restaurant.

Travel

We will meet at London St. Pancreas International Train Station ready for our Eurostar journey to Lille or Paris. From there it will be the TGV to Avignon where we will pick up our minibus to transport us around Provence. The TGV will take us to Paris Gare de Lyon. All transport in and around Paris will be by the metro underground system, both to and from the hotel to train stations and to the museum.

The train from Paris gare du Nord takes us directly to Amsterdam Central station. Again, our transport in and around Amsterdam will all be taken by their underground metro system, the GVB.

Our return journey home will see us take the Eurostar direct from Amsterdam to London St. Pancreas International.

Itineray

Day 1 – Travel from London to Avignon via Eurostar, TGV and minibus. Settle into hotel.

Day 2 – Van Gogh walking trail tour.

Day 3 – Painting at a famous Van Gogh site. Exact location to be chosen by the group.

Day 4 – Travel to Paris by TGV, then the metro to our hotel and settle in.

Day 5 – Visit Musée d'Orsay.

Day 6 – Travel from Paris to Amsterdam by train, then metro to our hotel and settle in.

Day 7 – Visit Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Day 8 – Travel back to the UK by Eurostar.
