Corsica, the French island in the Mediterranean sea, is known as the Island of Beauty, and for very good reasons too.
Corsica is made up of green forests and mountains mixed with rugged coastlines, inlets and bays with long sandy beaches, aqua sea and clear blue skies.
We will get to experience this beauty, from our base in Bastia, in a number of ways. We will take the boat along Cap Corse coastline, sea kayak out from Bastia, take the train through the mountains to Bonepart Napoleon’s birth town, Ajaccio, visit Bastia by little train, and be guided around it’s famous Cittadelle de Bastia and take a mini bus tour of the entirety of Cap Corse, taking in all the old villages and Genoese towers.
We will be staying in the Hotel Castellu Rossu, nestled in the trees of a park, located in Bastia, with a beautiful swimming pool and with a wonderful Corsican menu.
This holiday is the ultimate Mediterranean experience.
The three-star Castellu Rossu Hotel and Restaurant is located in Lucciana, 15 km from Bastia and 6 km from the sea. Josette and Antoine Micheli, along with their whole team, will be delighted to welcome us in to their warm and cosy hotel.
There is also a fabulous swimming pool for us to use.
We will be fully catered for by the hotel, breakfasts, picnic lunch and dinner. The restaurant offers traditional cuisine served with local products, all served on a paved and shaded terrace, overlooking the hotel gardens.
We will meet at a London Gatwick Airport and you will be supported on the flight to Bastia Airport in Corsica, France.
Our mini-buses will take you on the 20 minute drive from the airport to our hotel.
We will enjoy tasty breakfasts, healthy picnics for lunch and hearty dinners in the evenings, a balanced menu catering to your dietary requirements.
